Day 15 – Best Picture

We are mostly movie watchers, although we do watch some TV, still hooked on American Idol (a guilty pleasure), Top Chef (both foodies), and yes, the umpteenth season of Grey’s Anatomy (our daughter lives in Seattle). Going to the movies is pretty costly these days, but no matter how big your TV is, watching a movie on the big screen (I love IMAX and movie popcorn) is still the best experience. Some years, this being one of them, we try to see all the Oscar nominated Best Pictures, and luckily I received a membership to our local theater, the County (a non-profit) for Christmas so we get in for a reduced price.  So far we have seen Grand Budapest Hotel (didn’t love it), Birdman (Michael Keaton was brilliant, great writing and interesting new continuous filming), The Imitation Game (again really good writing, great acting, interesting story), Boyhood is on the agenda for tomorrow and The Theory of Everything is on for Sunday, others to follow when they are released.
